The lifespan of a physical file depends on the frequency of its use, and your obligations under GDPR and other data protection laws. It reaches its conclusion when a file remains inactive for an extended duration, or fulfils the archiving mandate.

When deemed obsolete, these files can quickly pile up, occupying valuable storage space. An office might have a whole room filled with documents that are no longer needed, but go ignored because you lack the time, energy or resources to sort, relocate and dispose of them in an efficient and legal way.

This is where CAS comes in. Our bulk shredding service is unobtrusive,  confidential and efficient, limiting any disruption to your day-to-day operations.

If you don’t want to dispose of your redundant and expired files, you can also choose to scan and shred them in bulk. This allows you to access the information digitally, without worrying about physical storage space.

The benefits of our bulk document shredding service include:

Enhanced Compliance
Depending on your organisation and the specific industry that you operate in, you will have a set of obligations that you must meet when it comes to document storage and disposal.

For example, any personal medical records made by the NHS must be retained for a minimum of twelve years. Even if you do not operate within the healthcare sector, you are still likely to be subject to GDPR rules.

Amidst these regulatory demands, our safe and secure bulk shredding service provides you with peace of mind. By partnering with us, you’ll ensure that your document disposal practices adhere to legal standards, safeguarding your organisation's reputation and avoiding potential penalties.

Environmentally Responsible
In addition to protecting personal information, our bulk shredding service also helps to protect our planet by increasing rates of recycling, and reducing amounts of waste. The shredding and pulping processes ensure that no information can be retrieved once the physical paper has been destroyed, guaranteeing that your recycled documents remain confidential.

Efficient Resource Utilisation
The responsibility of document disposal is one that can easily fall through the gaps. By delegating the task to off-site bulk shredding experts, you can ensure it is completed both efficiently and in a way that fulfils your legal obligations. This removes the burden of sorting, scanning and destroying endless documents from your in-house staff, freeing up vital resources.

Our dedicated team takes care of the entire document disposal cycle, streamlining the process for you. From secure pickups to responsible shredding and recycling, we’ll not only save you valuable time and effort, but also allow you to concentrate on what truly matters – driving your business forward.

How our bulk document shredding service works

The National Health Service is currently undergoing a digital transformation. The heart of that transformation was to digitise patient records for the majority of health and social care services by March 2025, hopefully making the Service more efficient and cost-effective.

As part of this process, CAS Ltd was entrusted with scanning and storing over 20,000 medical documents for Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust. This project eliminated the need for a medical professional to retrieve a record from the library by hand, check it out, review it and then return it. This not only improved efficiency but reduced the number of steps in a complicated process.
